I spent much of my 20s pursuing a career in music. I fronted multiple bands in different genres, toured the country, and have played in front of crowds numbering in the thousands. I still occasionally record music, though generally just when I need something quick for background or when I have an idea I’d like to preserve. Here are some samples of music I’ve either recorded myself or participated in.
The Bulk Day Song: A simple song recorded for a social media post by a local neighborhood co-op grocery.
Inspector Mom: I was asked to create this for a wrap party video for the short-lived Lifetime Network show Inspector Mom. Recorded by Adam Davis, backing vocals by Jenna Walsh.
No Place Like Home: This was a commissioned piece intended for a TV pilot. I co-wrote the lyrics with cellist Mark Ford, and I recorded the rhythm guitar and primary vocals. Mark sang backup vocals, and all of the other instruments and general composition of the song was recorded/created by Jon Gary.
Long Dead Days: This song was never used in any professional sense, but I have always been fond of it. Written by me, with backing vocals, additional guitar, and some composition by musician Justin Wiles.
The Movie Hole Theme: A theme song for my yet-unreleased podcast.
One and Only Boy: A song I wrote and recorded with my former band, Rollfast Ramblers, for our album, Satisfaction Guaranteed. I played guitar and sang, other credits as follows: Bass - Ben Sparks; Steel Guitar - Seán Bolivar; Drums - Ryan Patterson; Fiddle - Heather Rae Johnson
